Great return for Matthew White Motorsport

Matthew White Motorsport has returned to Winton with both cars turning in a top 10 finish in race one!

New driver Tim Slade finished an impressive 9th in race 1 in his first drive for the team while Matthew White drove a superb race up front to finish 5th.

In a race marred by incident it looked as though the race would finish under yellow until marshals cleared the track just in time for a one lap dash to the finish. Slade who was sitting in 15th capitalised on the safety car period and dashed through the field to grab a spot in the top ten. He said “The race was a difficult one with lots of incidents and safety car periods. I just had to be patient and wait my chance to make some ground and the one lap dash really suited me in the end. The car felt better and better as the race went on and I had some laps under my belt.” Slade will start race two from the front row of the grid in the reverse top ten format.

Matthew White, making his first appearance behind the wheel this year said “The cars had good pace and to have us both finish in the top 10 shows we have the right equipment out there. I managed to stay pretty clean up the front and Tim did a tremendous job getting himself in the top ten. He got quicker as the race went on and ran times similar to mine in the end. Starting from the front row will give him a great chance and we should see both cars again in the top ten all being well.”
