Tim Slade will now run the new ‘Slade Speed’ team from a base in Melbourne ( Hallam ) and will be responsible for the day to day activities. James Rosenberg, from Gawler Farm Machinery, has provided the team with a Perkins Engineering Holden V8 Supercar which has been put to good use at the Clipsal 5000 in Adelaide.
The Clipsal 500 was the Slade Speed teams debut event and many aspects of building and running a new team had to be completed. To his credit, Tim handled all the tasks very well and topped the weekend off by being in the top 6 places in practice and qualifying. Race one saw him finish 3rd, unfortunately race two saw him get a touch at turn one and his race ended in the wall.
The car has substantial damage and is now back in Melbourne getting repaired.
The Fujitsu V8 Supercar series race was telecast a week after the main event Saturday 1st March. Tim and the Slade Speed team would like to thank the people who supported the effort at the Clipsal 500; Gawler Farm Machinery, displayandstorage.com, CDAA Hosting, Clem Smith Motors, Sign Boys, Adelaide Commercial Joinery and Discount Bathrooms & Kitchens. Tim Slade will also be featured in an interesting full page driver profile in this weeks edition of Auto Action (page 30), available at your local newsagent.
