Profile

Tim Slade is a sensational young South Australian Motorsport talent with over 10 years of racing experience behind him.

Tim began racing Go Karts in 1994 and over the next 8 years won many Junior State Titles, culminating in winning the 2001 Australian Junior Intercontinental A Championship.

With limited funding and an older car, Tim moved up to Formula Ford in 2003 with some good results that impressed many with his pace and race craft.

Since the conclusion of 2003, Tim struggled with funding and only completed a handful of races including a one off race in the Kumho Tyres Lotus Trophy Series, 2005 Formula Ford Cup and a brief stint in the Australian Formula 3 Championship.

Part way through 2005, Tim made the decision to move to Melbourne to work for the championship winning Sonic Motor Racing Team. After considering his career options, a deal was struck with the team for Tim to run in the 2006 Australian Formula Ford Championship where he would continue to work for the team preparing his own car and assisting with the preparation of others.

At the conclusion of a disappointing end to a highly successful year, Tim had to settle for the runners up trophy after the championship was decided in the final race of the final round. Despite the disappointment of missing out on such a prestigious championship, Tim has many reasons to keep smiling after collecting 2 round wins, 2 round podiums, 5 race wins, 3 straight pole positions, 9 fastest laps and 2 lap records, a successful test with V8 Supercar Championship winning Toll HSV Dealer Team and the forging of many important relationships within the motor racing industry.

Tim finished an impressive sixth overall at his first outing with the Dexion Racing team at the 2007 Clipsal event and went on to finish 15th at the second round at Wakefield Park.

He sits currently in a respectable 12th overall as he moves to drive with the Matthew White Motorsport operation for the Winton round. MWR finished on the podium at Wakefield and Tim is hopeful of similar success at Winton.
